First blog test

This is a test of the emergency broadcasting system. Repeat: This is only a test.

This is how I include a hypertext link in the body of a blog post.

Embed a video. It's easy peasey!

In this first instance below (the blank video space that says "blogger" in the play bar). I uploaded a short video file directly from my computer. It can take a while to upload a video this way, if the file is large. If it's low-res webcam footage then maybe it's not too bad. Either way, I don't know what kind of compression blogspot uses; it may not be the best.

Some issues are: depending on how you've formatted your blog, videos may be too wide to show properly in the main blog column (I've actually adjusted the blog template so that the main body column is wider, to accommodate these videos fully); and, more significantly to me, the blogger video format doesn't allow users to see the video full-screen, unlike the YouTube embedding option below.

This video was already posted on YouTube, I'm simply "embedding" it by copy and pasting the script that's included on the youtube page for such purposes:

To me, this youtube option seems like a better choice. Do you see how you can click on the option to play the video full-screen? This would be better for kids viewing your video blog in the classroom.

That said, there may be places other than youtube where you could upload your videos to that are a little less public. I haven't, for example, tested what happens when one tries to embed a Picasa video. I could try that next if you like.

This is me typing in Google word processing program. It's web-based, not on my computer. I can format and spell check and add tables and weblinks and all that jazz, just as with a normal word processing program. But I can also publish it on the web in a way that allows me to choose who sees it. Like you, for instance. Or I can just make it public.
Or, as I've just discoverd, I can post this to my blog.

Highly trained staff, along with a group of student volunteers, encourage participants to make the most of this unique wilderness experience. Currently offered one weekend a month, the program allows participants to enhance their abilities in a relaxed but structured setting. While the emphasis is on having fun, campers are introduced to daily living skills like cooking, cleaning and shopping, and taught the tools they need to effectively handle a variety of cooperative-living and social situations.

(testing copy/paste).

No upload of posts using external WP?

But I'm a vegetarian, yo!

Apparently the Google sensors think I'm canned meat; I've been flagged. On the naughty list. Don't know what set it off, really. My handle maybe? No blog testing allowed? Too close to "blogtestes"?

Not sure if I can post or not while this process goes on, so this is a test. Not that it matters, since this blog is purely to help test different features'n'gadgets'n'things.

Test 2

Testing something or other. Guess I'll upload a pic, since I'm still waiting for the other post with the video upload to process.
